I could make up some excuse as to why I didn’t publish this earlier, but basically it’s solely because I’m fucking lazy. Another fun fact about me: I spend way too much money for being a money conscious dude. But, whatever. You live and you learn (or in my case don’t apparently?). Here is a breakdown of my net worth for September:
Mint sucks and still haven’t updated my accounts. I’ve pretty much given up hope that it’ll happen. As you can tell, I’m basically the most illiquid person in the history of history, so there’s that. The credit card debt is going to catch up to me in October. I have avoided paying interest thus far by basically transferring balances (not literally) from card to card as I get a new one for travel hacking. I just got United’s MileagePlus Explorer card with a targeted 50k sign up bonus. The sign up bonus, coupled with the minimum spend points I’ll accumulate, will be enough miles to get me to Europe and back next summer. Pretty convenient. But that’s a discussion for another day.
In summary, I spent way too much money in September. I took a road trip to Tennessee/North Carolina to see a friend. It was a pretty sweet trip. Spent a night in Lexington on the way down and hit up Pies and Pints. I would highly recommend it if you’re in Lexington. It’s right across the street from the Hyatt by Rupp Arena. I stayed there using Chase UR points. Hiked Table Rock Mountain in North Carolina and spent a day in Asheville. Went to Tupelo Honey for the first time; if you ever go there, the steak and eggs is a must try. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I’m a pretty big foodie. In October I’ll be going to Philadelphia, so I’m pretty exciting for the eats there. I also just booked a flight to San Diego the first weekend of December which cost 19k Southwest miles plus $11.20. That trip should be relatively inexpensive because I’m staying with a friend.
Until next time, folks.
